BOARD MEMBERS

Andrew Walsh - Managing Director, IRESS Market Technology
Andrew took the role of Managing Director at IRESS in October 2009, after seven years as General Manager of the IRESS Wealth Management division, overseeing the growth and direction of our wealth management business.

Andrew founded XPLAN Technology (XPLAN), and from 2003 managed the transition of XPLAN from an independent organisation to a fully integrated division of IRESS Market Technology.

Prior to IRESS, Andrew worked as an actuarial consultant with Mercer in the Superannuation and Risk, Finance & Insurance practice areas. Following this, he managed ongoing software development as Actuarial Development Manager at Vision FPS.

Stuart Bland - Chief Financial Officer, IRESS Market Technology
Stuart joined IRESS in 2001. Prior to this, he held a number senior management positions in a range of industries including telecommunications, biotechnology and the wine industry. These senior roles were commercial, financial and M&A focussed. Previous to this, Stuart worked at Coopers & Lybrand for nine years, primarily in their corporate advisory area.

Stuart is also IRESS’ Company Secretary.

Ashley Mendelowitz - CEO Peresys
With over fifteen years financial markets experience, Ashley founded Peresys in 1997. Previously, as GM Operations at the SA Futures Exchange, he played a leading role in managing the implementation of automated trading in the derivatives markets in South Africa.

In addition to maintaining long-standing key customer and partner relationships, Ashley's main focus continues to be shaping Peresys' strategic direction.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

David Harty - Head of Operations and Securities Lending
David gained extensive experience in both institutional and private client investment management before joining Peresys in 2000. He spent four years at Liberty Asset Management where he was a senior manager responsible for back and middle office administration before joining a local private client asset manager as general manager support services. He has had extensive exposure to systems analysis & re-engineering, new system implementations and integration solutions.

Before taking on his current role in 2009, David played a leading role in creating a dominant South African footprint for Peresys’ Securities Lending products.

Derek Crous - Head of FIX Services
After writing Futures Clearing Systems for Rand Merchant Bank and Equity Derivative Trading Systems for Investec Securities, Derek joined Peresys shortly after inception and lead the team that designed, developed and implemented Peresys' flagship equity dealing and order management solution, Hermes.

Today Derek’s primary focus is the technology roadmap for all Peresys applications and services.

Raymond Pretorius - Head of Trading Solutions
Previously at RMB developing Equities and Derivatives solutions for the Treasury division, Ray has extensive knowledge of the workings of the JSE Securities Exchange and Safex Derivatives Exchange.

At Peresys, Ray began writing market making and index arbitrage systems, before leading the Hermes team during the JSE migration to the LSE matching engine. As Head of Peresys' FIX Solutions business, Ray then drove the highly successful adoption of PerFIX as the FIX EMS of choice in South Africa across asset classes.

Richard Bell - Head of Portfolio Management
Richard joined Peresys after spending three years at Coronation Fund Manager as Head of Technology where he was responsible for all technology including the management and implementation of both unit trust and investment management systems, designing and implementing new technologies within the group.

After spending two years in London growing the reach of the Peresys Connected Trading Community, Richard is now based in Cape Town and is responsible for solutions relating to the Buy Sides across all Peresys’ producs. Richard also currently co-chairs the South African FIX Protocol.org committee.

Stuart Campbell - Head of Sales
Stuart joined Peresys as a member of the Sales and Account Management team in 2002 after previously gaining valuable experience selling market data and trading applications in the financial markets for seven years. During his time at Peresys, Stuart has been instrumental in building the company’s enviable footprint and recurring revenues and today, as Head of Sales, leads a team of highly experienced and skilled account executives.
